Internet Access: SAMI has a direct
T-1 internet link through an internet service provider. The SAMI
computer network links directly with the internet on a 24 hour,
on-line basis. Security is provided through a shield created by
the internet service provider. SAMI has reserved the domain name
of "svinicki.com." Clients may establish internet addresses
such as "client@svinicki.com." Messages route directly
to a designated staff person at SAMI. In addition, all SAMI staff
have e-mail addresses at "svinicki.com." Email from the
client's own domain can be routed to SAMI staff at their individual
email address.
Web Site Development and Hosting:
SAMI believes that today's organizations need to have a web site
to communicate with members and other publics. SAMI will assist
with the development and implementation of a web site either in-house
or using a web development vendor. It is recommended that client
web sites be hosted on the SAMI co-location web server (located
at Kartos Interactive, Inc., a server-hosting firm in Madison, Wisconsin).
Kartos Interactive, Inc provides highly secure, competitively priced,
hosting of web servers. By owning a web server, SAMI has limited
the access to client sites to staff and authorized parties only.
On-going maintenance of the client web site will be provided in-house
by SAMI staff. Management of client domain registration and domain
email can also be managed by SAMI staff.
Email Broadcast Lists: SAMI manages
all client email lists in-house using state of the art software.
It is recommended that clients maintain a member list serve and
use it, in conjunction with the client web site, to conduct frequent
communication with members.
Projector Rental: Svinicki Association
Management, Inc. (SAMI) clients can rent our computer projector
for $100 per day. Some meeting facilities charge as much as $650
per day to rent a projector. If a SAMI staff person is present at
the event, we can bring the projector and handle the set-up and
takedown. A hard-sided shipping case allows us to check the projector
as luggage for out of town meetings.
